Just like Bonnie Doon, Sydney truly is one of the world’s great destinations. And as Daryl Kerrigan would say the faster you went the more of it you got to see! Well there was plenty of high-speed thrills and spills this weekend that’s for sure.
We go to know each other on the first day with a drive out to the world famous Bondi Beach and some awesome fish n chips down by the water in Maroubra.
Day 2 was when the action really started. We got our bearings in Sydney by heading to the observation deck of the Sydney Tower. At 309 metres high, getting close to the glass edges is not for the faint-hearted.
That afternoon we headed back down to Darling Harbour for one of the highlights of the trip. With Twin 355hp Turbo Charged diesel engines, the Thunder Jet boats are without doubt the most thrilling way to see the world’s most beautiful harbour. Complete with 360 degree spins, this was a serious thrill-seekers experience upon a spectacular and iconic backdrop. We were grinning ear to ear as we pulled back into the marina. We were saturated … but it was worth it!
With barely a minute to catch our breath, we were back at it that evening. We headed out to Manly to take in the atmosphere and grab a bite to eat. We got some ice cream on the way back and ate it while taking in the serene beauty of the city from Milson’s Point.
We woke up on Monday excited. It was time for the absolute, undisputed, #1 highlight of our Sydney Adventure Weekend! We headed towards the airport and made our way towards the headquarters of Blue Sky Helicopters ready for our own private, ariel tour of the city. High above the world’s most beautiful harbour, taking in Sydney’s iconic sights from the sky is an experience for every bucket list.
We woke up on Tuesday morning to a dreary Sydney day. Our good friends at Troll Tours had to cancel our Harley Davidson trike experience due to the weather. We’re glad we did because it bucketed down all morning. Luckily, we’ll be seeing these guys on our One For the Guys trip next month! In true Trusted Travel form, we didn’t sit around feeling sorry for ourselves. We donned our ponchos, headed across Pyrmont Bridge and spent a lovely morning at the aquarium and Madame Tussauds wax museum.
New friends and forever memories are at the core of every Trusted Travel trip. We said our bitter-sweet goodbyes and farewelled our friends as we headed back to our different corners of the country.
