Melbourne City streets, trams, shops, and restaurants were bustling and buzzing with people out and about everywhere, it was so wonderful and exciting to experience the happiness and joy of the Melbournians after months in lockdown.
The shopping was amazing, we literally shopped ‘til we dropped; that is what we were there for, so that is what we did.
We visited Spencer Street Mall outlet stores, Bourke Street Mall, The Queen Victoria Markets, St Kilda Shops and Docklands DFO shopping centre, all over a very fast 5 days. There was so much to look at and choose from, but the ladies were most impressed with The Queen Victoria Markets. The Markets were massive and had a large variety of market stalls to choose from. Much shopping was done here, and the ladies were able to purchase many gifts for themselves and their loved ones.
It certainly was an adventure from foot to tram to shops to enjoying lovely food along the way. We took the tram down to St Kilda Beach and enjoyed the lovely little town of shops and cafes. Abbey Road Cafe was the winner for lunch and a couple of us had a tarot card reading in the chakra shop before taking a relaxing walk along the Promenade in the nice cool breeze, where there were many people relaxing, sunbaking, and swimming.
There are just so many wonderful restaurants and cafes in Melbourne to choose from and the aromas while walking around the city streets had us salivating. Deciding where to eat was not easy but we were very impressed with Lygon Street, with a huge range of Italian, Egyptian and Portuguese restaurants to choose from. The food here is authentic, full of culture and amazing aromas.
The Christmas trip really is a must for all those shopaholics and foodies out there, so jump on board next year and experience it for yourself.
