New South Wales is Australia’s most populous state. Surely, we can find something fun to do here! Actually, we found so much to do we had to split this one up into two parts. In this week’s edition of the Adrenaline Junkie’s Guide we look at three of the most thrilling activities found in and around Sydney.
If you missed our previous articles, read about the thrills and spills North Queensland has to offer or the most exciting activities in South Australia
Sydney Harbour Jetboating – Circular Quay
The Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House are indisputably Australia’s greatest architectural marvels. Embarking from Circular Quay, experience sweeping views of these two icons and more by jet boat!
According to Thunder Jet – one of the many reputable jet boat operators that ply their trade on Sydney Harbour – they offer a “heart pumping, adrenaline ride, the jet boats preforming amazing stunts and wild spins through Sydney Harbour with slides, twists, wave riding, power brake stops, and sweeping fishtails.”

Skydive the Beach – Wollongong
There are any number of opportunities to skydive in Australia so when putting together this series of articles, we had to make sure we were picking one that was extra special. Wollongong is Trusted Travel’s home town and we reckon there’s no better place to plummet towards the Earth at terminal velocity.
Landing on the sand at Wollongong’s beautiful North Beach is a surreal feeling after the thrill of freefall just moments before. And hey, if you’re gunna be jumping out of a plane, you may as well be landing somewhere nice hey?

Blue Mountains Canyoning – Blue Mountains
Who knew that some of the world’s best canyoning was right at our doorstep? For anyone who has been to the Blue Mountains, it makes perfect sense. The dramatic landscape of sheer sandstone cliffs, eroded over hundreds of millions of years by the forces of nature provides the perfect setting for a network of deep, hidden slot canyons.
One of the best things about the Blue Mountains is that there are canyoning, abseiling and rappelling options for all skills levels. A handful of reputable companies will take beginners to the lovely Empress Falls to hone their skills. More hardy adventurers can take on canyons like Butterbox or the world famous Claustral Canyon.
