Meet Tony, another one of Trusted Travel’s biggest advocates! Tony is a man from Wollongong, New South Wales who has been travelling with Trusted Travel since 2018. His first supported trip was a relaxing comedy cruise, a 3-day trip out from Sydney Harbour and back in. It’s always it’s always a pleasure to see his name in our bookings list and we can’t wait to one day get him to Disneyland (but more about that below).
First thing’s first, do you have a travel nickname?
What was the last holiday you went on and what did you enjoy about it most?
Blue Mountains Experience, November 2020. I enjoyed the indoor skydiving experience the most!
I found it to be the highlight of the trip!
What’s the one place you wish you could go and why?
It’s disappointing Disneyland trip fell through due to COVID. I was really looking forward to enjoying the experience… Not to mention all the added bonus associated activities!
What’s the one thing that you always take with you when you travel?
Medication – because it helps prevent seizures… And they interrupt enjoying life!
What’s your favourite thing about travelling with Trusted Travel?
The security and trust of the support workers, knowing that they’re there to ensure I get to travel independently from my parents.
Can you share an interesting fact about yourself with us?
I am always thinking of different ways of adapting all I see around me, into song lyrics or poetry… Because my short-term memory is atrocious; and I want some form of a record for me to fall back on.
For a person travelling with a disability whether it be independently or with support, what advice would you give them?
Don’t be afraid to be open; enjoy yourself… Embrace the moment!
Do you have any final words of wisdom to share?
Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone… The RIGHT Support, helps you achieve more than you think possible!
