On a beautiful weekend in November, Trusted Travel packed up and headed south for an amazing few days of aviation. Thanks to our friends, James and Tim at South Coast Seaplanes and Sheldon at Touchdown Helicopters, our group of adventurers took to the sky not once, but twice.

Spending our first night at beautiful Malua Bay, we were up early to meet the guys from SCSP at Moruya where we took in views of the beautiful Eurobodalla coast from above. None of us had ever been in a seaplane before and it was truly an exhilarating once-in-a-lifetime experience as we flew high above the Deua River. Our early joy flight gave us the chance to spend the rest of the day exploring Mogo Zoo and everyone was able to hand feed the giraffes, which was very cool indeed!

Day 2 saw us head north. We took to the skies again from Shellharbour Airport and flew high above the Illawarra with the crew from Touchdown Helicopters! Wollongong is home to a few of our gang of travellers so it was wonderful to look down on our home town from this unique perspective.

No trip to the South Coast is complete without taking in some of the amazing scenery. On the final day we weaved and wound our way home through Kangaroo Valley, stopping for lunch at the famous Robertson Pie Shop, a Southern Highlands institution. Fittingly, we rounded off our aviation experience with a visit to the Historic Aviation Restoration Society, getting up close and personal with their collection of cool old military and civilian aircraft. Our guide Frank was extremely impressed with some of the knowledge of planes that some members of our group already had.

It was a weekend many of us will never forget. Fingers crossed we’ll be taking to the skies again soon!
