What a treat this trip was for our Home & Away fans! We all meet up and travelled to Sydney in our bus, buzzing with excitement. We arrived at the hotel with plenty of time to relax, get to know one another and take in the views of Darling Harbour. Over dinner, we talked about our favourite characters from Home & Away and which parts of the set we were most keen to see. We knew we were going to have a meet and greet with one of the stars, but just which one was a secret! Everyone was so excited!
The next day, the crew from Flamin’ Galah Tours at Circular Quay greeted us and off we went on the official Home & Away tour bus bound for Summer Bay! We learnt all about the making of the show and learnt secrets from behind the scenes of the hit show. We got to visit the famous Surf Club, Alf’s Bait Shop, The Boat Harbour, one of the set houses and of course, the beach! At the house, we got to meet Brody – he was really cool and even took the time from shooting to take a photo with everyone on the tour. Our group could not have been more thrilled!
The following day was a perfect sunny day. Just the right day for a visit to Bondi Beach! We checked out the street art and rippers at the skate park, and then popped over to say hi to the Bondi Rescue Lifeguards. Luckily, no one needed rescuing at the time so we got to chat and have some photos taken with the legends of Bondi. After some lunch on the popular Bondi promenade, and being a great day for a swim, we jumped back in our bus and made our way to Bronte Baths. Sheltered from the ocean, but still filled with light salty waves and surrounded by natural rock, Bronte Baths was a superb spot for a cooling dip.
On our final day, we enjoyed our last breakfast together at the hotel, spent some time in Darling Harbour, before making our way back home to our family and friends.
