What a weekend!

The fun and friendly tones of ABBA filled the bus as we set off on our travels to Parramatta. We met a few travellers on the way and even more at the hotel. We were finally ready to begin our holiday.

First order of business, a Rivercat ferry ride from Parramatta to Circular Quay, highlighted by a stunning view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Sydney Opera House, Luna Park and the sun setting over the water. Dinner in the middle of this beautiful city was a perfect way to round out the day.

At Parklea Markets the next day, we all looked through a veritable treasure trove of trinkets and knickknacks; each one of us found a bargain to take home.

The reason we were all there, the spectacular Mamma Mia show at Riverside Theatre, had us all laughing and singing along. What a spectacle! Colours, lights, smoke, singing, dancing, the catchy tunes of ABBA… What more could the group want!

Another highlight of the trip was the Pinot and Picasso experience. Is there anything more relaxing and fine that painting with one hand and a glass of wine in the other? We all got to use our creativity side and paint beautiful sunflowers (we had a few Michelangelos in the group), a perfect way to keep a memory of a trip away.

Our final activity of the trip was to put on some ice skates and hit the ice rink. Some of us were shaky on our legs while others twirled around like the stars of the Winter Olympics.

The ride home had us all sharing our favourite moments of the trip before singing the crowd favourite, Dancing Queen!
