After a smooth flight to the Sunshine Coast, we settled into a beautiful getaway house in Buddina, QLD.
That afternoon we headed into Mooloolaba; our first activity of the trip was the Aquaduck. The Aquaduck is a bus? Boat? That starts on land before splashing into the water. We enjoyed a cruise spotting wildlife, experiencing the beauty of the Mooloolah River, the bustle of trawlers in the harbour and the mega mansions lining the canals. To end the first day, we had a BBQ dinner beside the pool while listening to our favourite tunes.
Day two, we were ready to fulfil our reason for travelling to the Sunshine Coast: To go to Australia Zoo!
Australia Zoo is the home to over 100 different species of animals and the Irwin family, who live in a compound on site! As we travelled around the family-owned zoo, we spotted the crowd favourites, the koalas, Sage the tiger and Casper the crocodile.
After a long day we spent the afternoon swimming in the house pool before heading to the local RSL Club for a pub feed.
Day 3 saw us start the morning at Eumundi Markets. Eumundi Markets has over 80 stalls ranging from handmade items, original artwork, sculptures, furniture, toys, locally designed jewellery and grown food.
The next activity on our list was the Banana Bender Pub. The Banana Bender is a quirky pub full of colour and unique style. The Banana Bender sources local produce to create a tropical menu; what a treat! After a wonderful fresh lunch, we headed back to the house for an afternoon of swimming, games and relaxation.
For dinner that night, as if we hadn’t eaten decadently enough that day, we headed to the Groove Train, known for their woodfire pizza and risotto.
Day 4 began at the local beach “The Golden Beach” where we enjoyed the sight of the clear ocean while sipping a coffee.
Afterwards we headed to Aussie World. The crowd favourite was the Ferris wheel, where we could see the entire park from the peak of wheel.
After enjoying all the rides Aussie World has to offer, we headed home for our last dip at the house pool.
Our finally dinner together was at Mooloolaba Thai Lotus. We enjoyed the beautiful Thai food while sharing our favourite parts of our holiday.
