Wow, what can we say about Melbourne! It is not voted the world’s friendliest city for no reason.

The people, the food, the culture, the accessibility, everything was a big tick from us.

Monday found us traveling to Melbourne from Sydney. We arrived just after lunch, checked into the hotel and set off for lunch and a self-guided tour of the laneway art.

We then had a look around Federation Square and a look at the Christmas display there.

Tuesday was a self-guided tour around the DFO’s. We hit South Warf DFO, then headed to the Docklands DFO.

At Docklands we went to ArtVo. WOW! There are some super talented artists out there. The way the 3D art came out in the photos was amazing.

We then headed to the Christmas Maze and the competition was on between Dale and Haylee, Brad and Tracey to see who counted the Christmas Elves accurately.

Tuesday night we went to dinner at The Toff and had some delicious Thai food.

Wednesday saw us on the tram and heading to St Kilda where we had a walk around the promenade and had lunch.

We then headed back to the city and went to the Sky Deck and “The Edge”. Sky Deck is Melbourne’s tallest buildings standing at 88 floors high. The 360-degree view from the top was amazing and we went out on “The Edge” which is a glassed cube where even the bottom of it is glass! The cube is cantilevered off the edge of the building and Brad and Dale loved this, but Tracey was quite scared much to Brad’s amusement.

Thursday  was another shopping day in the Melbourne CBD where we had a look at the Myer Christmas Window Display and more shopping.

We topped the night off with “Pepper Lunch” for dinner and “San Churro” for dessert.

Friday was our last day in Melbourne and coincidently was the start of the Tattoo Expo. We headed out early after checking out of the hotel and had a wander around to look at all the exhibits. Brad even got to catch up with his tattoo mate from Bali.

All good adventures have to come to an end, and in the afternoon, we headed to the airport to fly home. What a fabulous week of shopping, food, fun and friendship!!
