With our cowboy hats, smiling faces and boots packed, we were, more than excited for a weekend of music and boot scootin fun. With flew into Coolangatta – Bundjalung Nation – where the festivities began.
Set next to the pristine beachfront of Queensland’s Broadbeach on the Gold Coast, the Groundwater Country Music Festival was a perfect mix of board shorts and banjos, surfboards and steel guitars as country music’s finest assembled for three days and nights of incredible entertainment. They say country music is a broad church and that couldn’t have rung truer during our weekend at Broadbeach. From the talented Travis Collins, to the banging country rock of Dozzi, and Darlinghurst, our travellers were chasing stars from stage to stage and dancing all day long. Even did some line dancing with DJ Colonel’s Music Cottage.
We made friends with talented awesome up n coming singers like Max Jackson and snapped photos and got autographs with established country stars like, Raechel Whitchurch and, of course, Gina Jeffreys . It was Gina, along with Seaforth who headlined the final night and what an end to an amazing weekend it was! Of course, we didn’t want it to come to an end, but after 3 straight days and nights of dancing and non-stop fun, our feet were ready for a break.
