With excitement setting over and everyone abuzz with anticipation, embarking cross-country to witness the second match up of Australia’s most talked about game, NRL State of Origin, was well underway with blue fever taking over Trusted Travel Tours.

To add to the electric atmosphere, this was the first Origin of its kind that was not being held on the Eastern Seaboard of Australia. The highly anticipated event was also being broadcasted in the newly built, state of the art complex, Optus Stadium, which seats around 60,000 enthusiastic and passionate fans who would be attending the sold out event.

Prior to the game, Trusted Travel had a couple of days to explore the city of Perth. From the city to the sand, we visited and experienced some of the West Coast’s most iconic places, such as the Fremantle Markets, Bell tower and Cottesloe beach.

However, we were there for one thing and one thing only, to watch the Mighty NSW Blues battle it out with the legendary Queensland Maroons. With the air tense and our spirits high, we witnessed the Mighty Blue Cockroaches prove victorious with an exhilarating 38-6 win over the Queensland Canetoads, one that was sure to be remembered for the history books.

With high fives, handshakes and hugs all round, we finished Perth on a high note and even got to share our flight home with some of Queensland’s very own squad.
