Melbourne – Our Sporting Capital!
It’s a goal! Another try! What better place to watch our favourite teams in action than our proud sporting city of Melbourne.
We started our getaway in style, cruising up to the airport in our chauffeured Chrysler. It wasn’t long until we touched down in Melbourne and our group was excited!
We immediately soaked in the vibrant city as we arrived at Southern Cross Station. We then checked into our hotel and made our way out for a tasty dinner. Over dinner we bonded as a group, chatting about our favourite sporting heroes, teams and memories!
The next day, we enjoyed a hearty breakfast at the hotel and jumped on a tram to Flinders Street Station. It was here we met up with tour guide Ben, who took us on a fascinating walk past the Yarra River and over to the Melbourne Sports and Entertainment Precinct – What a way to experience the MCG! We grabbed a bite to eat at a café and then enjoyed all the history in the Australian Sports Museum. The group enjoyed the interactive exhibits, kicking some goals! and bowling a few spinners!
Later that day we headed the Melbourne Skydeck, taking in amazing views of Melbourne and beyond.
The next day was Richmond vs. Collingwood at the G! Our group soaked it up with the 65,000 strong crowd! Our Tigers supporters in the group were pleased with the 113 to 86 victory!
That night we hit the historic Mail Exchange Hotel for a delicious pub meal and to watch some more footy!
The next day we jumped on a tram and made our way to AAMI Park to watch the Storm vs. Dragons.
Emotions were mixed with the result, our Storm supporters in the group were smiling.
Everyone agreed it was so much fun and they can’t wait for the next trip!
