Did someone say road trip?

Hit the road with some new friends to the beautiful town of Lithgow, and then continue the adventure to Dubbo.

Hear the monkeys playing and zebras bleating from your Savannah cabin, located just outside the Zoo’s entrance. Spend two nights in style and comfort and enjoy views of sprawling natural grassland right on your doorstep. Wake up to the vast and distant views of the animals in the African savanna.

Taronga Western Plains zoo has more than 5000 animals from over 350 different species. Keeper talks are held daily, so you will have the chance to see and learn all about your favourite animals.

Trusted Travel are excited to offer participants this amazing experience of waking up in the wilds of Dubbo Zoo.

While in Dubbo, we will also visit Dubbo Gaol as well as a visit to the Royal Flying Doctor Service experience where you can learn about the history of this fabulous lifesaving service in the outback.

We understand that not everyone lives near the departure location. If you need assistance getting to and from the meeting point, please contact our friendly Trusted Travel Consultants. They’ll happily give you some helpful tips on how to get from point A to point B.

Day 1

Our staff will be ready to welcome you at the departure point, farewell your families and friends and start the adventure. Let the road trip begin! We will make our way to Lithgow where we will be staying for the night before commencing our journey to Dubbo.
We will have a great time getting to know each other over a delicious meal in one of the local restaurants.

Day 2

Grab your bags, we’re hitting the road today bound for Dubbo! On the way we will visit Dubbo Gaol, this 19th-century prison explores the brutality of prison life, the daring escapes and heritage of the site is delivered in a mix of theatrical performances and modern immersive displays. It is a really fun way to learn about history.
On arrival at Taronga Western Plains Zoo, we will check into our stylish cabins. Our self-contained cabins are perfect for everyone to enjoy a hearty home-cooked meal. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the feast preparations if they wish.

Day 3

Wake up to the vast and distant views of the animals in the African Savannah. After a delicious breakfast we will enjoy all the wonders the zoo has to offer. This zoo is massive so there will be plenty to see today.
After our fun day at the zoo we will make our way to the local club for a scrumptious dinner and then home to bed!

Day 4

Another beautiful day waking up to the sights and sounds of the African savanna. After breakfast, we will pack up our things, check out and farewell the zoo. On the road again! We’ll travel back to Lithgow making a few scenic stops along the way. One of those will be at the Royal Flying Doctor Service Experience. This purpose-built interactive display is an exploration of the world of the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Touch down into the world of heroic doctors, nurses, pilots and outback communities. Live each moment as you deliver urgent medical care across a 7.69 million square km ‘waiting room’ – the Australian outback with the doctors and nurses of the air.
When we arrive in Lithgow, we will have some down time in the afternoon before we begin the preparations for our last night pizza party!

Day 5

All good things must come to an end. After breakfast, we will pack up our things and depart from Lithgow towards Sydney and Wollongong. After a great week discovering new things and making new friends, we will head home with great memories of a wonderful week together.
