Come along with us and discover the famous historical attractions Melbourne has to offer.
Staying right in the heart of the city, we will visit the old Melbourne Gaol. Here we will explore the goal and the watch house. Inside the Gaol, dangerous criminals were held alongside petty offenders. Between 1842 and its closure in 1929 the gaol was the scene of 133 hangings including Australia’s most infamous citizen, the bushranger Ned Kelly!
A highlight of the holiday for any train lovers out there will be the Puffing Billy Steam Train. The journey aboard Puffing Billy takes you through the magnificent Dandenong Ranges. Puffing Billy was built to serve at the turn of the century and is a genuine relic of our more leisurely days. The Railway is the major survivor of four experimental lines used to develop rural areas in the early 1900s.
Do a spot of shopping at the famous Queen Victoria Markets, visit the State Library with the most impressive architecture and take a tour of the Royal Exhibition building, equally impressive!
If Melbourne is on your holiday hit list, you’re sure to enjoy this experience.
